I had hopes for Brit after she Fed-Ex'd herself back into singledom. Sure the blonde bob was perhaps a tad harsh (but look back at the Lucky and Born to Make You Happy videos to see how nice her hair looks shorter so it was a step away from the evil nylon extensions. She even covered up, and then due to dalliances with (ex?) NBF Paris Hilton the trash is back.

Hair nasty. Hemline bad. Please dear GOD let her be wearing pants, even just a THONG this time. I don't want to see up to her kidneys again.

Now grey is great, I love it and practically live in it at the moment, but this does nothing for fairer skinned people such as Cate - especially not with such a severe choice of hair'style'. It's like Pink bred with Gwen Stefani and had one hell of an ugly baby.

Soothing Skin Clarifier (for minor acne flare-ups)

The next time you experience one of those annoying breakouts, try this skin clarifier to clear your skin of acne flare-ups fast.

* 1/3 cup warm water
* 1/4 teaspoon salt
* 1/8 teaspoon honey
* 1 cotton ball
* 1 cotton swab

Directions: Mix together water and salt. Using a cotton ball, apply directly to blemish. Maintain pressure with cotton ball for several minutes to soften blemish. Using cotton swab, dab honey on blemish; leave on 10 minutes. Rinse and pat dry.

Banana olive hair treat
_______________________

Here's a treat for dry damaged hair.
Blend 1 banana with 1/3 cup of cold pressed extra virgin olive oil. (You can get both at the supermarket)
Shampoo and rinse your hair.
Towel dry.
Apply on your slightly damp hair. Especially on the ends.
Wrap your hair with a plastic wrap.
Leave it on 30 minutes to an hour or so.
Remove the plastic wrap
Rinse your hair.
If you find it too oily, shampoo once and rinse off again.
Add 1 tablespoon cider vinegar and 1 drop of lavender oil to 3 cups of water.
Pour the lavender cider vinegar water over your hair as the final rinse, for shiny hair.
Wrap hair in a fluffy towel to dry.

Savvy Eye Makeup Tips

If your eyes are small, stick to light or medium toned eye shadows to avoid making them look even smaller. Use a shimmery pale shadow under the brow bone or lightly dotted on the inner corner of the eye.

Line the outer corner of the upper lid with a darker color, smudging it slightly upwards and outwards to open the eye.

Never line the lower lid or you'll make your eyes look even smaller, and always curl your lashes and finish with a generous dollop of volumising mascara.

If your eyes are deep-set, the trick to making them stand out is to highlight the eyelid rather than the brow bone.

Try sweeping a medium toned shadow over the entire lid, then apply a slightly darker shadow from the socket to the brow bone. Blend both shades well so there's no obvious line.

If your eyes are looking tired, dot a slightly lighter shade of concealer under the eye and blend well to disguise dark circles or fine lines.

Avoid bright colors as they can make your eyes appear bloodshot - try a light wash of a neutral cover over the lid instead. Line the inside of the lower lash line with a white pencil to make your eyes appear whiter. Finish with lashings of curling mascara to make you look more awake.

How To Get Perfect Brows

Brows can make or break a face, either framing it beautifully or standing out a mile. Get yours looking great with these secrets:

We're all born with a natural brow shape that gives our face its distinctive look. The idea is to enhance the natural shape to give you a natural look.

The beginning of your brow should be in line with the inner corner of your eye, the arch in line with the outside of your iris, and the end should extend just beyond the outside corner of your eye, tapering slightly downwards.

Always tweeze your brows in plenty of natural light and take your time. Start at the inside corner and work outwards, alternating between eyes to keep them balanced. Pluck in the direction of the hair growth, and remember to step back and view your face in a large mirror from time to time so you can accurately see your progress.

To fill in your brows, use an angled eyebrow brush and an eyeshadow that's slightly lighter than your natural brow color. An eyeshadow works better than an eyebrow pencil, which can make your eyebrows look unnatural.

If you must use a pencil, use light feathery strokes and start with the arch before filling in the rest.

To keep your brows looking groomed all day, comb them upwards and outwards with a brow comb sprayed with hairspray.

Alex Curran is a WAG - wife/girlfriend of an England footballer, in her case Steven Gerrard. Now she seems to come into alot of flack from the press, and I have doggedly attempted not to single her out but...

There are several issues here. Alex is in my opinion the most naturally pretty of the footie-elite's other halves. She just needs a little styling. I had thought she was going in the right direction when she lost the voluminous weave late summer and had high hopes for her. Then came her 25th and an incident with some red hotpanks and thich boots (trust me people, they didn't get printed here to protect the feeble of mind and sensitive of stomach) and the downward spiral has continued it would seem.

This dress should only be worn on a remake of Lost In Space. Matt LeBlanc could tell you that's a bad idea. If anyone lights a match around this poor girl she will be reduced to a puddle of nylon and fake tan.

Never again let Judy Robinson be your inspiration.

I love this. I have been wearing a big smooshy cowl necked charcoal jumper dress all day - first with tights and boots, and now with my comfy jeans and it's my current favourite thing. Always one to try to plan ahead, I started to look about today for an eventual replacement.

I do love this. I found it at MyWardrobe.com for £167 ($310.62/€242.15) and it's just divine.

Charcoal grey knitted jumper dress with a deep V neckline and cap sleeves. The hem is unfinished so has a slight rolled effect trim and a punched out pattern in the knit with a See by Chloe branded charm. Wool and mohair mix. Hand wash. Go get 'em :)

Love Island) looks like the Queen of the raging hybrid Devil/Jester cloning experiment that took place in the underbelly of a giant white python. She's pissed people, so pissed she's wearing THOSE sandals and denim to an evening function. Watch out for her spin attack, she'll have your eye out. I love UK parties because it seems like it's open invite to anyone who has ever been famous (or sometimes infamous) for five minutes or less. Case in point being Closer Magazine's birthday bash in London.
Does BB7's Imogen Thomas long to be a pirate? Perhaps she's just being realistic about her chances of becoming an A-list celebrity and is warming up for panto season early? The dress is shapeless, and she is still perma-tangoed despite it being very almost October.
BB5 'stunner *cough* Michelle Bass somehow manages to get these invitations despite her only claim to fame being a presenter on porn channel Television X (quite the 'career' move young lady) and having a revolting pair of fake tits. Oh and crunchy hair. Here she does Barbie, the crack whore years.
Finally is Alex Best who once had a small, but in-proportion to her frame teeny chest and has since overinflated her chest as well as her ego. For Alex she's actually not as 'nuclear' orange as I have seen her, but she does keep wearing dresses that accentuate her new 'balloons' a little too much, and swathing them in leopard print (see also the divine Katie 'Jordan' Price) is just SO not what the trend was intended for. You're meant to be channelling high fashion, not 'barmaid'.

I swear, this whole 'Tit Belt' thing is turning into an epidemic.
'le Herve' is back once again. And once again she could have fashioned a more flattering frock if she'd tied a bathmat around her waist or just spent a tenner in Primark. I don't know who made this dress and before anyone presumes to tell me I DON'T CARE. It is hideous. Jordan might be able to pull off candy pink, with a wink and a flash of leg but on le Herve it is so SO very wrong. The top doesn't fit her tits, the waist makes her look pregnant, the hips are stretched, and thhe entire cheap looking bubblegum mess of an outfit is creased. The bag is lovely but the shoes only belong with jeans and a vest on a day off, not for an evening function. Oh and I am firmly of the belief that grown women should say a firm and resolute 'NO' to headbands.
I would however like to welcome TPT back into the world of the loved and very beautiful people. She truly is as mad as a hatter and utterly endearing, so it hurt me earlier to have to trash her outfit. But it's ok, unlike Kylie, TPT has learnt from her mistakes and came up trumps to the TDWP gala screening. Simple crisp feminine suit. TPT and your lovely new nose, we salute you.

She has managed to make the young soul talent believe that a bottle green crushed velvet gown complete with broiderie anglais trim and goldtone chain tit belt would be the best option for the evening. Cruel, evil twisted genius at work. I hope someday she goes on to style Paris and Nicole.
Not to be outdone (and frankly it would have taken something of Bjork proportions to out-do THIS) is young Su Elize, formerly of UK girlband Mystique. I'm guessing a solo single may be in the offing so they decided to go for 'impact and column inches' by turning a gorgeous young girl into a human peacock. Plus she is looking very thin these days, maybe she ought to try eating some poultry and game rather than wearing them.

So much to work with from this little bash. Oh how I wish I was in attendance.
The pictures are fairly self-explanatory, so I shall be brief.

EXHIBIT A - Katie 'Jordan' Price (and this comes from a place of love Kate as I truly do adore you for some odd reason) shows us all why the animal trend taken further than a small accessory is a bad idea.

EXHIBIT B - Remember when i said HERE that Sadie Frost should leave the Treacy hats to people eccentric enough to carry them off? TPT just lost that crown, she looks awful and those shoes do not go with the dress either. Just plain wrong.

EXHIBIT C - 'Lady' Victoria Harvey. It's true I prefer her little sister, and never really warmed to this woman and so I was happy when she relocated to the states. She is a woman with a title and money, yet she still to this day dresses like a tramp. Too tight, too much cut away, and once again the shoes do not go with the dress.

Last and by NO means least, EXHIBIT D - Jamie Murray. Let's list what she is wearing here... lingerie bustier complete with 'cute' red rose feature (I'm sure Alexis wore this in Dynasty), red (p)leather cinch belt, jeans, (faux?) fur stole, and Dorothy's sparkly slippers. I need to lie down....

I hate to 'undress' a celebrity twice in the one day but Kylie has given me literally no choice.
Too many colours.... patterns merging.... nausea.... God make it stop.... spots, stripes, diamonds, halterneck, racer back grubby vest, and for one even Kylie's SHOES are vile.
What the hell is going on?
I tell you what the hell is going on, I typo'd 7 times in the above paragraph because the sight of Kylie in this this... THING has disturbed me so much.

Well I'm sure that whatever she was doing in LA on this day was more important than just being seen at the Ivy and then shopping. Why she also swanned around in the 'ugliest trousers ever' which on first look (I had seen a previous TERRIBLY unflattering picture taken from behind) looked to be leather. Leather is bad but at least it's meant to shine. Why would someone a) wear black on a hot sunny day, and b) wear shiny black trousers unless they were going through some kind of bizarre 'Sandy from Greece' delusion. Aside from shopping pictures all I ever hear from her is the annual picture of her in a bikini that makes it into Heat magazine's 'curvy celebs' collection. She looks so smug, so hot, so cut in half by the too-short jacket, so pale to be able to pull off black hair, and so happy to not have to work like the rest of us. *Sigh*

The concert was in aid of Red, an African AIDS charity. For this reason alone I shall let the red sash belt go - I think it was some kind of a statement.
I haven't been entirely sure about several elements of Kylie's style since she (thankfully) went into remission and once again was well enough to grace the public again. The hair is actually cute so she shouldn't worry about that, and the makeup as ever is just immaculate. The clothes have been... odd for me, but only because I felt alot of the Chanel jackets etc have been a little on the voluminous side and ergo none too flattering on one so petite.
This dress though is downright VILE. I cannot hold the bile down any longer for it started to melt through my innards as soon as I saw this. See, I TOLD YOU animal prints are bad. There are always people who can't just keep it subtle and decide to TAKE IT TOO FAR. Kylie, we expected better sweetheart, sack the stylist and burn the dress.

I have never been the biggest fan of River Island, it's a bit naff, the fit was never quite right for me, and the store here in Southampton always seemed like TopShop's scrunty little sister that nobody paid any attention to. Occasionally though they do have a pair or two of footwear that I like and this Fall is no exception.
Best pick are the Snaket Heels which retail for £49.99. They would look great to spice up a LBD or equally good with whatever cut of jeans you are wearing at the moment.
To go with the heels and jeans combination this is one of my favourite little white tee-tops that I have seen at the moment. The shocker is that it's from the George @ ASDA Fast Fashion range which starts from just £6. A very 'fashion forward look' at supermarket prices? We like that.
The last little bargain of the day is these boots which come from Asda rivals (ooh a supermarket war) Tesco. If you have been coveting Kate Moss' black boots for the past two winters worn practically every time she was papped with a pair of skinnies tucked into them, then these are for you. The F & F Florence Black Round Toe Boots are just £40 and will go with just about anything while not being too high to walk in. I'm not crazy about any of their clothes this year but the boots are worth popping upstairs for if you are in there doing a food shop.

Ooh I approve of something for once although not entirely.
The dress is a great cut, fits her well around the bust (take note Ms Loos) and in general is a hit, I like, I'd actually wear.
There is the small issue, however, of the 'tit belt'. WHY is there a belt THERE? Did some new innovation in breast uplifting take place while I was asleep to suggest ladies with more bountifully blessed chesticles should use a garment more suited for the waist in this way? Surely just a good bra would be better? I would not wear the belt, but the rest is divine, bonus points for the peep toes and cute clutch too. If someone would just make this in jersey and jumper dress forms I'd probably seldom wear anything else.
I can however offer this little dress from asos.com. For some reason this also comes with a tit belt, but that aside it's pretty cute. One can never have too many LBD's if you ask me and it's a nice modern shape as well as being a halternexk that even the flattest of chests can get away with. Result. Comes in cherry red or black and just £28, could be time to get that dress for the office christmas party then...

Also from the 1976 Milestones of Gemstones 2006 party we have a stern warning to us all about how NOT to wear the lovely gold tones as championed on the NY Fash Week catwalks this year. I'm guessing 'Sioux' saw a picture or maybe was in attendance at a show, when the gold was unveiled. She toyed with the idea of buying something new to embrace the trend, then remembering she's not really worked since the 80's, decided to just dig out the ill-fitting christmas novelty suit, circa 1987. The boots are just the most repugnant footwear I have seen all week (and trust me I have looked at ALOT of animal print this week, so that is a BOLD statement), and she looks far too pleased with the ugly hand ink.
PS You were fiercer as a brunette, why not dye it back for when your new cd comes out next year?

Now for some very odd reason I quite like Rebecca Loos. She was portrayed rather badly in the 'alleged' affair with David Beckham scandal, but he came out of it smelling of roses, despite the fact HE was the one with a wife and family he was responsible for. Somehow we let men get away with their transgressions, while the women are forever painted as scarlet ladies and treated with derision. Sad really.
What I normally quite like about 'La Loos' is the fact that she keeps it simple. Ok so the hair's lighter now but she is never too caked in makeup, never so tanned that she glows orange (Posh take note), and usually keeps to simple styles and basic colours. For this I applaud her. I do however have issues with this outfit. It looks like she had it before the breast augmentation, because the top half of it just does not fit. The fact that her bosoms are squished into it makes her top half look small, consequently making her look like a huge pear. I also really DEEPLY dislike the red toenails while her hands are not done. Matching the ends of her hair to the roots would also have been good, but all in all could have been saved were it custom fitted and maybe an inch or two longer. Gets bonus points however for not glowing in the dark or wearing a trilby with capris (I may never forgive Posh for that).

NY Report 12-13/09/06: Derek Lam & Marc Jacobs

This dress is one of my favourite things I have seen so far from NY Fashion Week, This was the last piece of the Derek Lam show -a beautiful one shouldered goddess dress with a delicate braided strap. I would so love for someone with a little panache to actually wear this (rather than it wearing them) at the Oscars or similar, but we have little chance of that for these days most movie stars seem to want to be Jenna Jameson when they grow up. Porn stars just don't have the grace or presence to pull off something like this.
I adore this Marc Jacobs bag. in soft leather and trademark quilting was updated by becoming super-sized. The colour just makes me want to touch the bag, it looks so soft like you need to give it a hug. Expect to see this in many colours hanging off the arm of La Lohan et al very soon.
NY Fashion Week has been a feast of lovely ideas from my perspective, gold being the one trend which I think will filter down successfully and feature heavily to the high street.

Oh as ever old LSL never fails to impress us with her lack of taste. For years she has struggled without the aid of a stylist, plugging away at trends like they were literally going out of fashion (sometimes a whole year after everyone else knew they were passe). This is great though. This really makes me smile. Remember when Kylie was HUGE and LSL tried to do the whole Kylie thing with the pigtails and the lycra? Methinks LSL has been influenced by Ms Aguilera to attempt a 40's style. As only LSL could do, she saved money on costly diamonds by using GLITTER! How INGENIOUS!

Actress Izabella Miko turned up to the LA Premiere of Black Dahlia wearing... this.
I do wonder if it was her first actual visit to LA and she was choosing her outfit based on reruns of Baywatch and Beverley Hills 90210. Maybe she thinks the streets are lined in sand and the whole place is one big beach party? Who knows. But turning up to a premiere wearing something more suited to taking the kids to a themepark in is just plain WRONG.
The other really bad part of the Miko outfit decision-making process was the fact that of course Scarlett Johansson would also be at said premiere. While I am not crazy in love with the hair, it does work, and the sixties inspired makeup and look is a good one. She also wore a nice glam slightly sparkly dress which you can see more of by clicking here. One looks every inch the glowing Hollywood starlet. One is wearing white capris with pink plastic shoes. Who do you think won?

These pictures are just precious. I had to wait three days for Blogger to de-spam my blog so I could post but being able to share these makes it all worthwhile.
Looks like David's influence to make Posh go back to being natural are working a charm. Who knew she was in fact part Oompa Loompa? I can see now it's not fake tan, she's just 'keeping it real'.
The 'button mushroom' nipples are pretty offensive too, but the outfit is ok. OK in a sort of 'I'd wear the belt only if you tied me to a chair and threatened me with a cattle prod' kind of a way. At least she lost the hat. Going to fashion week and still looking a wreck, oh dear the crown is slipping VB. Must try harder.

Quelle Horreur! Leopard Print that I Like!

Yes it was unlikely but with everywhere I look screaming 'ANIMAL PRINT' I decided to see if maybe I could find myself one smallish accessory piece that I could actually live with so as not to ignore the trend altogether. What I found was a little gem, and a bargain to boot, courtesy of none other than Ebay.
This little bag is made of velvet and ships from Hong Kong via Airmail. I love the little vintage style hand beaded with sequins claspwork around the top and the fact that you can remove the chain strap to make it into a chic little evening clutch. It will probably take a week or two to arrive to me here in the UK but seeing as it has cost me just £11 including postage, I'd say it's a little bargain worth waiting for, and very on trend. Expect to see me swanning around in this with various black and grey jumper dresses this autumn.
The more surprising (and though I wouldn't buy it personally, I also wouldn't vomit on you if you wore it in front of me) is the Chiffon frill front blouse with satin belt, £40 from Warehouse UK. I can see this with one of the season's a-line skirts or drapey black pants, maybe with a nice little camisole underneath. If you feel the need to embrace every trend then (clothing wise) this is about as inoffensive as I have seen for the animal trend this winter.

Lydia Hurst / Julia Kova @ Absolut Ruby Red Host Pre-VMA Party

I have only just seen this picture, sorry for the delay. Now this lady is of course a Ford model and so is used to trying out new trends etc and having to fit into ill-fitting clothes and shows for shoots and shows. I know I know - I get that much. But going to a VMA Party in a nautical vest two sizes too large (and therefore best served as a beach coverall, for which I am sure Ms Hearst has little need) and drawing beauty inspiration from Roxy Hart is just not the way to go.
(PS - Is it just me or would Kirsten Dunst scrub up like this if she found a stylist and a cosmetic dentist?)
Then there is this living Barbie Doll aka Julia Kova. I have no idea who she is other than what the net tells me, 'Former Miss Russia' this and 'aspiring popstar' that. All very thrilling. The thing is, she is like a Russian equivalent of Brooke Hogan (without the protein powder). Yes, a very pretty girl but why so obvious? Why so fame hungry that you will turn up in public in a dress better suited to the window of Ann Summers? Worst still, I expected to see skating boots at the end of her (almost endless) legs and an outtake clip of her paying homage to Torvill & Dean's 'Bolero' popping up on a blog link. Just NO Julia ok, if you can sing you are pretty enough to wear a polo neck and long pants and guys will still notice you!

I had to post this, it's from a couple of months back now but it is SO choice that I couldn't not post about it or the persons concerned. I am referring to Ashley Cole and his wife Cheryl Tweedy. For anyone who does not know Cole is a footballer in the UK and Tweedy is one fifth of UK girlband Girls Aloud. They married this summer, and after befriending none other than fellow WAG and former girlband 'star' Victoria Beckham, her new 'friend' apparently advised her to pose for a series of pictures. I like to imagine that Posh also gave Cheryl tips on what to wear for the occasion too. Her thoughts probably went a little like this:
That Cheryl wants my crown as most glam singer and footballers wife. This can't be happening to me. Must do something. That bitch has even been rooting through the bin of Beckingham Palace and syphoning out my old weave. I know, maybe if I can convince her that a dress with a pirate shirt for the top and a ra-ra skirt for the bottom is the way to go. She's bound to believe me, I know about fashion and stuff. Then all she needs is some mules to show off her cankles while posing in front of a car in some clouds. Ker-ching.
PS Must remember to tell her pretending to say 'Ole' in your head while having picture taken helps to encourage a natural result.

The first being that NOBODY needs to GO THERE again in fashion, maybe some 60's sci fi predicted we WOULD all be wearing silver manmade fabrics by now, but boy were they wrong. And secondly, even the skinny look horrid in satin. Rather than showing off the bumps on curvy people, it shows up hipbones and ribs on the skinnies. Not nice.

Ooh, swooooooon. I am in LURVE big style with these beautiful (and affordable) shows by Faith called Curtain. They are available in UK sizes 3-8, are real suede & are the cutest 'round toe court with chiffon bow' combination I have seen in some time. They are also available in black (and even Fearne Cotton would have looked better had she bought the mildly nauseating leopard print pair) and cost just £55.00 (that's just over US$100). It is my birthday in 8 weeks, expect these little beauties to feature highly on my wishlist.

Now there is a part of me which secretly loves Fearne Cotton. She has the face of a cherub yet she doesn't feel the need to be one of the identikit blondes and instead spends her time finding kooky vintage pieces to wear while downing pints (probably) and dating rock stars.
The thing is I really really HATE leopard print with a passion. It just reminds me of my Mum watching Coronation Street when I was a kid and thinking that Bet Lynch had the most vulgar sense of style I had seen. It also makes me think of Rod Stewart back in the 'Do You Think I'm Sexy' stage of his career. Plus this dress is a terrible fit on poor Fearne who actually has a fab little figure which is both curvy and petite. Even a pair of nude stack heels might have made her legs look good but they have been cut off at the ankles by her 'boots of abomination'. Just NO Fearne.

FTID 'SORT IT OUT' Part 1 - Brooke Hogan

OK so I have attempted to ignore the emerging 'phenomenon' that is Brooke Hogan. Sure girl, your daddy has hair bleached within an inch of his life, and frankly looks to have gone 'burnt sienna' through years of sunbed abuse, but you're young. Things don't have to be this way. I don't know who styles you but think about it. Lots of us start out in life with less than ideal parents as rolemodels. I can see from family snaps there is just not much in the way of style and taste floating around the Hogan mansion but to see an 18 year old dressed up like this is just saddening.
The shoes are cheap and if you are wearing open toes for pictures make sure your pedicure is done and pretty. The hemline is too short for your shape and your brother apparently stapled a row of tinsel to it for a laugh. The neckline, hair, earrings and especially the makeup are just TOO MUCH. This is the sort of outfit a washed up 40-something soap actress would wear out to gain attention after having her face lifted another inch. If you have talent then let it shine through. Pop on a pair of jeans and a simple top and wash your face. It really is that simple. There are people out here who want to help you Brooke. Don't turn us all away.

There are so many eternal questions in this life. Things to reflect upon, points to come back to in moments of quiet contemplation. One of mine is 'Why does Madonna keep taking her colourist tubes of this and asking for a colour match'? Why is the hair always pulled so far apart that we can always see the roots no matter what? Why so severe Madonna? How I long for the days when admittedly she couldn't dance for toffee but she looked healthy and her hair was a much better colour. Remember Material Girl? That was in the 80's. NOBODY has any kind of excuse to look less stylish now than they did back then. Madonna however insists on rocking the grey complexion, bug glasses, parachute sportswear and ballet pump collaboration and expects us to accept it. I think not.

Imogen & Aisleyne - BB7 Party Circuit Watch

I apologise for anyone outside of the UK reading this as they will have little clue who Imogen is. She was a housemate in this year's UK Big Brother, is a former Miss Wales, has a stutter, and quite clearly wants to be famous. This I can handle. She was a bit dull but by no means the most barmy or deluded of this year's contestants. I cannot however handle any girl, no matter how pretty, wearing an ill-fitting creased monstrosity of a tiered tangerine balloon dress and then accessorising with matching skin and a necklace that looks to be made of macaroni.
I had hoped that Aisleyne, being by far the most likeable of this years females would have fared better.
The whole point of TitTape is that it is meant to make clothes look like they effortlessly stay in place. Ais decided to forego this method and looks to have used 'No More Nails' or similar adhesive to hold her cowl in the desired place around her bra. The bar which, incidently would only work if a) you were shooting a glamour calender & b) if it was actually the same colour as the 'dress'. I loved Ais for her sense of humour but I had hoped after the white and turquoise chiffon 'roman blinds' dresses she wore on TV that she might have toned it down just a tad. You're a very pretty girl, don't always try to hard. Oh and the shoes are vile.
Let's hope next time they go out they decide to recreate one of my favourite nights in the house and truly embrace the 80's theme.

Lindsay Lohan - how not to apply fake tan

Oh how I am disappointed in our Lindsay...
I know what you're thinking - but it's not criminal right? No but a month or two back she looked so much better.
I don't like the very dark hair. It can be harsh on people even with olive (or darker) skintones so on a natural redhead it just doesn't work. This also means she then compensates by dipping into the 'big pot of orange glow'. I love fake tan, well the tinted body moisturisers at least. They can give you a subtle glow when you are feeling down that just makes you look healthy. It is however MOST IMPORTANT Miss Lohan that for future reference when fake tanning that you DON'T FORGET YOUR FEET next time.
The sandals are cute (if anyone knows where they are from please let me know) and the dress is of course a very pretty colour. Not mad about the cut but wouldn't it have looked even better with her natural hair?

Sadie Frost, Old, Greasy and most definitely OUT

I had to post this monstrosity of a picture of Sadie Frost. I don't know where she was or why (and I don't care) but she took it upon herself to step out her kooky little white dress (you don't have the boobs for it) and black ankle boots combo (give me strength woman - YOU WERE AN ADULT IN THE 80's!) with this little beauty of a hat:

I am no great afficionado when it comes to hats and perhaps this Philip Treacy? "styled" headwear might be ok for Ladies Day at Ascot (enough free champers and I'll forget the hat). It might even work on someone delightfully eccentric enough, say Tara Palmer-Tomkinson, to pull it off with a smile and a bitching Vivienne Westwood kilt. But Sadie, you are a Mum desperately holding onto the past with toyboys and would look so much better in almost anything else. Oh and next time wash your hair.

I have never ever managed to conceal my amusement at the nickname of one Victoria Beckham. Posh she's not but she has become reasonably style savvy over the years (and let's face it seeming the posh one out of a girl group including Geri Halliwell and Melanie Brown is no great achievement). Pouting and looking a tad snooty is apparently enough to earn you such a mildly misleading moniker.
And so now will come VB's latest project - her style book. Packed to the brim with tongue in cheek (we think) observations and tips on how to make any woman look her best, it's a noble effort enough. I wonder if 'have buttocks airbrushed into photographs so no need to eat' is one of them?
The best thing about Posh at the moment is the rumour that she might be the next famous lady to sign a Burberry contract. As you can see from this picture, Vic was Chav before Chav even existed. How could they NOT want her on board?
The 'style' book, which will be published later this year, is described as a "revealing and practical" guide to "fashion, beauty and style." Posh said: "I've always been a girls' girl. And I know from experience that making the very best of yourself is something any woman can do. I was never the six-foot-tall pin-up. I've always been the girl next-door who got lucky," she said.
Posh has also landed a few style sideswipes due some truly hideous designer faux pas, but this book may be a fun read. Besides, are we really expected to believe Victoria Beckham wrote a book by herself? And if we get bored we can always grab a biro and draw moustaches on the pictures.

Rachel Zoe for Fall/Winter 2006

Loving the new Rachel Zoe looks for the fall. Now I do not want to turn myself or anyone else into a 'Zooey' sheep-a-like (there are after all enough of them already) but some of her trends are spot on and so credit where credit's due. I would however like to say publicly 'NO Rachel, step AWAY from the alice bands'.
While there is no way in hell you'd catch me in a pair of skin tight cut off skinny jeans (unless I was, say, being held down at gunpoint, and even then they'd need TWO hands to force the things on me (possibly more depending on how big a Doritos party I'd had the night before), at which point my assailant would have to put down the gun thus allowing me to escape) I am liking the Edwardian ruffles still floating about, and they do look nice with skinny jeans of a more acceptable length. Cut offs are ok if you happen to be 6ft tall and 90 pounds. If not then step away from cut off jeans and PROMISE me to burn any you have.
Here at F.T.I.D. I am also loving the fact that we have the jumper/sweater dress back for another season. Apart from being ridiculously versatile, they are warm and this season's dark neutral pallette's are super sexy. Try with grey opaque tights and heels. Avoid leggings, especially if like me you are old enough to remember the horror of them the first time around. No matter how tempted you are just remember they make your thighs look like sausages about to burst. Neither stylish nor attractive.
My favourite look however has to be the pretty ensemble to your right (click for a larger view). Floaty dress, nice jewel tones which flatter any skintone, easy to wear wrap style too. Plus the boots are too cute.
